How the Accu-strut Works

Tuned Mass Damping: Fixtured at the Accu-strut's core is a solid state damper assembly (Note: Accu-strut 2 models only):

This configuration adds a second vibrational system to the primary system, which is the rifle barrel itself as the bullet proceeds down the bore. Set at a natural frequency near the main high-frequency harmonic of the rifle (which is where the "tuned mass" comes in), the latter is split into two modes both more damped and of lower vibrational energy than the original target mode. In effect the damper mass splits off and dissipates some of the higher frequency vibrational energy. The end result is less vibration at the muzzle, and more precise bullet placement. Tests show that this system adds an additional 7-15% gain in accuracy.
